Profile types
There are three categories of profile types available in Clinical Analytics:
- Internal profile types
- Internal profiles are built from your organization's data with hundreds of criteria for defining your population of interest. There are 4 standard profile types for internal data (Inpatient, Physician, Department, and Facility)
- For facilities licensing the Outpatient module, there are 3 additional internal Outpatient profile types to select from (Outpatient Diagnostics and ASC, Emergency Department, and Inpatient and Observation).
- Dynamic profiles
- Dynamic profiles are built on internal data and show data for only the physician or physician manager signed in.
- Physicians often use dynamic profiles on their scorecards so they can track their own performance without seeing their colleagues’ data.
- Physician group managers can see data for their group(s) of physicians, and managers can see data for their facility only.
- Peer group profiles
- Peer group profiles are external facilities used for benchmarking and can be defined by geographic location, bed size, facility specialization, and more.
- Peer groups can only be created by Axiom Software, so contact Support if you can't find the peer group you need.

NOTE: Dynamic profiles use internal data, so they are internal profiles; however, they function uniquely, so they are classified separately.
Within the internal and dynamic profile types, there are sub-groupings of encounters to help refine your analysis.
